Meet Portia: A Professional Ballerina Living in the South of France
What could be more dreamy than moving to the South of France to be a professional ballerina? Meet expat Portia Adams who moved to Nice six years ago to do just that. We were delighted to connect with her through our friend and MIRTH content creator Frances Powless (also a dancer). Through Frances’ lens we were able to see what a day in Portia’s life looks like. We love how she paired her ballet attire with our loungewear collection for a day at the studio.
Read on below for a peek into some of Portia’s favorite French things.
MIRTH: Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where are you from and what brought you to Nice? How long have you lived there? Any fun projects you are working on or recently worked on?
PA: My name is Portia Adams and I am a professional ballet dancer with Les Ballet de Monte-Carlo. I was born in Michigan and have lived in the South of France for 6 years. Additionally, I am also a choreographer. I recently premiered my ballet entitled "Faintly Seen'" for the Kennedy Center and at Jacob's Pillow.
