Handmade Details

HAND BLOCK PRINTED

We collaborate with a family of 7th generation master printers in Bagru, India to create our block printed fabric.

Each part of the process of this ancient technique takes place in this community: hand carving blocks out of wood, hand printing the fabric using Azo-free dyes, and washing and setting the final textiles. Nature plays an important role in the process, from mineral rich water and the sun’s rays to plants and the earth, all used in various stages of printing.
Sizing

Fits true to size with a swingy bodice. If between sizes, consider sizing down. This dress is less voluminous than previous iterations.

Care

Hand wash separately in cold water. Hang to dry in shade. Do not bleach. Warm iron if needed.
