we grew up with stacks of southern living always lying around the house. we grew up in the northeast in a texan home, a dichotomy that lead to a fascination with this culture that was familiar but not. i read every issue, and the southern chocolate mint brownies we make each christmas (that we get ongoing requests for, they are that good) are from the southern living archives, among countless other "family" recipes.
when we found out about our inclusion in the 2017 beauty awards, as a women owned business giving back, i just about died, remembering the days of pouring through issues filled with southern ladies. we think our grandmothers and great grandmothers-- who taught us invaluable skills like southern manners, scrappiness and the genius of crisp white shirt-- would be proud :)
and here it is!
