Never one to pass up an off-season escape, I swapped February gloom for the salty air of Puglia and a plate (or four) of orecchiette. Frances Powless joined us, and in between burrata binges, we shot our spring collection against jaw-dropping coasts, colorful fishing boats, and whitewashed medieval towns.

We could never have shot in these spots, even in the shoulder season– the IG famous Polignano a Mare, the port in Monopoli and side streets of Ostuni are usually full of crowds but we had them to ourselves!

Most hotels were closed but luckily the Moroseta folks still rent their private homes in the off season. It was too chilly for the pool but made for a great design head spot to lay our heads. Favorite feature was the collection of local pottery, particularly those by Nicola Fasano.

Highly reco a pasta-making class– I was skeptical thinking it’s maybe too hokey, BUT NO!! This one was by La Caseddha and so much fun. In a delicious coincidence, this shape is def a cousin of our Cusco cardigans!!

It was colder than anticipated, so we bundled Monica up -leggings under dresses, hand warmers tucked into pockets, lots of espresso breaks. We’re saving the boldest for last: our final spring styles drop next week, featuring big reds and bold blues that did a pretty good job concealing the dreary weather.
