The Story Behind the Collection
When you constantly travel for work, you get very opinionated about what belongs on your body at 37,000 feet. You need to feel put together enough to walk off the plane like a person, but comfortable enough to actually sleep. On a flight to India, that means surviving anywhere from 24 to 30 hours in the air.
The vision was simple. A travel uniform that doesn't choose between cozy and chic. After years of field research (re: a lot of flights), we finally built it.
Our founder, Katie, recently wore the collection across India and through Europe, on overnight flights, out for drinks, and yes, even hiking. These pieces solve the "What do I wear on the plane?" dilemma, then keep working for the rest of the trip.

The Fabrics
We're not ones to throw around the word "sustainable" and call it a day. Here's the rundown on the materials we used in this collection:
Brushed Fleece
This fuzzy, lightweight brushed fleece made of regenerative cotton mixed with foraged Calitropis plant fibers inspired the lounge collection. The fabric, called Weganool, a plant-based cashmere alternative. It's naturally-dyed, manufactured without pesticides or chemicals, and creates no waste.
The byproduct of Weganool production is repurposed into an affordable and natural fertilizer and insect repellent for farmers.
Sagebrush is dyed with Kaddukai, often used in Ayerveda, and Dove is dyed with Alkanet root, known for its medicinal properties.
Calotropis is a drought-resistant pioneer plant that grows on depleted soils in India, creating livelihoods in regions where reliable income is hard to come by. What makes Calotropis fiber so special (aside from its history of being used to clothe Indian royalty) is its natural hollowness. Each fiber measures just 10–19 microns, creating tiny air pockets that make the fabric antimicrobial, lightweight, and thermally regulating. In other words, it keeps you warm without being heavy.
Production of this fabric is 100% sustainable and provides decentralized, year-round employment for families in rural regions of India.
Organic Cotton Canvas
Our better-made basics include a work shirt, jacket, and dress, all crafted from GOTS certified organic cotton canvas. Only Azo Free dye is used on these pieces, which are washed for softness but retain structure.
Think of these as the foundation of any travel wardrobe: classic silhouettes, made the right way. These pieces are made from organic materials in an environmentally friendly way, by workers who are paid and treated fairly.
Caring for Your MIRTH Loungewear
Made only with natural fibers, we worked hard to make the handfeel just right. Special care is required to maintain the look and feel.
The brushed fleece pieces should be treated gently as you would a cashmere sweater. Never subject to heat or put into the dryer, which will alter the color of natural dyes. Only use pH neutral detergent (like Ecos, Branch Basics or Woolite) and wash in cold water on the gentle cycle, ideally in a mesh bag. Color will fade over time. Avoid contact with acids, like citrus, which will react with the natural dyes.
Because of the calitropis plant fibers, the brushed fleece has an organic look-- particles in the fabric are normal and part of the story.
