we've struggled to find a flattering short, so we finally made our own. after tweaking the pattern over and over again, we think we nailed it.
meet the bodrum short: high waisted, wide legged, pleated in front and loose in the crotch. the result is a comfortable fit that covers what you want covered and thins the thighs.
this version is made of 100% hand spun and hand loomed cotton and lined in cotton voile. pockets at side seams and elastic at the side waist. try these with our coordinating austin jacket.
the yarns are spun by hand and then the fabric is woven on a handloom by a co-op of women weavers in central india. this style of handmade cotton fabric is called khadi, a traditional indian fabric that gives a lofty and soft feel. the twisted yarns that make the stripe is a special method called dindori, native only to the rural region where it is made.
